It almost made me to cry. It seems that You are one of those great reformers who wants to change the reality to the utopian world we are dreaming about. But let me tell you Bob, I experienced the two of the worlds You described so well and I could not resist to put a short comment to this sad story of yours. First it seems to me that you are the one of those people whose made it up. Whose mothers did not know better than motherhood, whose fathers where broken by hard work and long days for the future of their children and now wants a revenge. Wants to destroy those bastards in their clean offices up there in the sky. Those people who even never stepped down where we are living, loving and die. And they really do not care. I still remember the words so often repeated in the communist propaganda "Proletariat of the whole world Unite". It does not appears to me that we working class people are really see those hands who control theirs movements and thoughts. I was living in the communist world for 20 years and I believe that you know that each of those worlds has its own face as the capitalism has. The worst ugly face of the communism was introduced in the Soviet Union but the USA has the most ugly face in the capitalistic universe naturally when related to the working class of people. The one world which I left was not so bad to the working class if you did not fight with the system, you was layzy and did not care about the material things. But the working class of people was constantly bombarded by the radio waves from the outside and from the walls of the churches and they saw those nice cars and houses the other world offered, and they wanted to have those things, but they did not want to work for them in they own world. The communist world was not better to the people then the other. We are not the people those great reformers wanted to see. The pay if you work or sleep was normal way of life. money did not matter so no one care to work and the efforts were priced with medals and diplomas. Nobody cared, the government was the enemy so the working class of the people fight themselves and the invisible elite by instructions from those churches and new great reformers who wanted to take over the power over the working class of people. They were like the sheeps under the guidance of the dogs. Slowly because there was no stimulus or financial incentives everything collapsed and the other more wild and natural world won the battle but the dream was dead. The working class of people in those countries realized that the new world is no better than the other and for many it is worse than other. For most of us in the communist world nobody worked longer than 3 hours a day, the rest was the time of drinking, making shopping or just having fun with the peers. It was no discipline and most of the things were artificially priced. There was free health care and almost free vacations in the government sanatoriums or resorts. It was the time when they give 3 years of payed maternity leave. Most of the working class did not like those ```things, they wanted all the other world could offer with much less efforts and now you Bob can see the comeback in many of those countries the old communist elite, because they never loosed they just become more reach and they stopped to hide their real assets and wealth. Now all can be rich but the true is that most of us are never will be owners of the businesses or them. It is very natural that in the life stronger and smarter are going up .We all want to be up there.Sometimes it is luck the lottery but for most of us the reality is the long working days for the piece of bread. The good government should balance those things. Let people to go for their dreams and stop abnormal greed. In the USA in reality the laws are made by the elite of the most rich people on the earth. Nothing is stopping them to be more rich. The inflation and competitiveness, find the cheapest hands to work is most important to them. Immigration is in reality a tool to import new breed of slaves to this country without even asking the majority of the citizens of their opinions. The political correctness is blow up to absurdal proportions. Nobody really want to speak what they really think because the work is so important to keep. Europe, well in here it is socialistic evil and blockade to the free market for the American corporations. In time they going to win and then the working class of people will see the real face of the human nature. Piotr W -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- ATTITUDES.. Robert, I was talking about your attitude. You resorted to ad hominem. That's the difference. Hi Tom, As if intellectuals don,t have attitudes. As long as i have been around the left and that is a pretty long time my friend. Both in and outside of the Post war left, especially the far left, there have been attitudes. THe main one has been treating working class people as something you pat on the head. Much like in a zoo.. If i were to put for example trade unionism before the working class and proletarian revolution and the importance of forgoing a party in order to get there. I could accept the accusation of "workerism", However your attacks on me are because of my style. You are already putting the rib up on bougeois behavior on the Internet. How one should speak, how one should argue, how one should know his place in the order of things. Are there any rules for how one should wipe is ass? This is the underlying current of this discussion both here but also on the lists where the left is present. You are talking *at* working class people and not with them. You have spent your whole lifes in and academic dreawilliamsorld and want to set the same rules here as in the life the far left has been leading since the 60ties.. I can honestly say that it is easier to talk with the most right wing patriot Vietnam vets with a working class background then it is with the left envionment on the net. It is not the working class here but people long and far from the class..A bunch of characters who pay lipservice to solidarity and socialism or communism..Even the labor party people are organising from the top down with the bureaucrats in the lead of taking the power before it gets off the ground.. None of you are really interested in more then making sure that your position in this envionment of ideas is not threatened especially from poor or working class people who might have something to say.. No wonder workers don,t want to have anything to do with the left. I have seen it all my life. Its sort of like where i,m a fish-you are a flounder-and the reverse goes to. The far left has no roots in the class..So why should we bother. Some racist bonaparte will come along who understands this stuff better and turn a lot of these people into Brownshirts. Then it will be to late for the left to wake up and realise they missed the boat.. Its not malecki that has to change! In fact it is the left that has to come down off its high horse and start relating to workers and the urban poor so that they understand it. A good example is my book. Working class kids and especially poor people understand where i,m coming from immediately. Even if they do not agree.. The left sees my book and have done nothing.. In fact i have been attacked time and again for actually having the balls to write something like that. How dare you stick up your head malecki. I have been accused by the left of trying to make money. Feeling sorry for myself. Being a lumpen who deserves to be in Sweden, being a cockroach who should be stamped out, being a vietnam vet who raped women and slaughtered people, not being able to spell after 25 years in exile. This is the "left" mind you.. Not one ! Hear me! Not one statement of solidarity. The left is impodent. In fact there are two organisations calling themselves communist or socialist that actually published my appeal The Swedish Mandelites and the Spartacists in the United States. Perhaps some anachists newspapers also..The left has showed itself completely bankrupt. I understand why the Vietnam vets are so angry. They were spit on by the left and the ant-war movement. I was spit on by the left also back then for being and ignorant worker in a tank plant when all the action was on the universities. Today you spit on me by ignoring that i exist or some crazy in exile who doesn,t realise that the Vietnam war is over. Today you spit on the Vietnam vets for being crazy at best.. So don,t tell me about how workerist i am. I am enraged and insulted. Can you possibly understand this.I could have elected to say fuck the left. I could have stayed here in quiet peace and live a very comfortable if not rich life thr rest of my time here. I said to myself that i owe the kids that i use to stand in the tankplant with in Cleveland. I owe the kids that i grew up in the ghetto with. And i owe my own kids a version on how things were from our perspective. To try and find and fight for a solution out of a class perspective..That is why the book and no other reason. I know that in the United States we are closer to a race war then any kind of class war. I know that facism is once again showing its ulgy face here in Europe. I know that we are heading for a new period of imperialist war and revolutions. And the only thing you can say is Malecki your are workerist, shut up.. Finally the only thing i can say it is not my attitude that is the problem. The real problem is that the left is living in a dreawilliamsorld of "ideological" struggle which has turned into a permanent lifestyle..You are protecting your little corner of cyberspace and the real world with huge posters. NO WORKING CLASS PEOPLE AND POOR ALLOWED UNLESS WE PLAY BY YOUR RULES! So Tom and all the rest of you fuck off...I will continue to contribute the best way i know how. That is all i can do.. Bill, The above is a really agenda! However i have some views about some of this stuff. There needs to be a revolutionary regroupment of forces internationally around the politics of Trotsky and the historic stuggles of the left opposition.. This has to tale place through ideological struggle and principled regroupment on a program for some key points. Internationalism Proletarian Independence from all bourgeois forces. Trade union work. The National Question. The Party question The deformed state and the former Soviet Union These are some of the basics.. While this is going on taking part in the living class struggles of the day can not be ignored. There fore the United front will be critical in gathering forces to oppose the class enemy. The labor party if it gets off the ground in deed and not just in word will certainly have to be dealt with. The present gathering of trade union bureaucrats and reformists of all sorts along with some grass roots certainly should not be over estimated at this point of being a great step forward. Only the future will tell if communist will have to take this new conglomeration seriously. But until we see some more deeds rather then words i don,t think that they at this point shpuld be given special attention. The whole debate around the labor party appears to be out of proportion at present.. However the are lots of struggles going on Internationally that are both more urgent and important at this point in time. there is a growing rebellion of the ranks to the reformist leaders here in Europe. Places like Turkey, the middle east are on the point of explosion. In the united States the key issue at present is not the Labor Party but racism and building against this incredible disease that is looking more like race war for everyday that goes.. Hows that for starters. And as you i hope that others will get involved here. Although who farted at Kronstadt is important to a point and Jakobin Terror also. Some of the probvlems facing us are a bit more important.. malecki in exile PS i,m taking both yours and mine from here to the next issue of cockroach.. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------- Bulletin Board --------------- The next issue of Cockroach comes out on August 1. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- -------------- Read the book!
