Select Call Forwarding

     AT&T and the Government claimed that Maydak used ``Select Call Forwarding'' to make it look like he made calls from his home telephone when he was actually in Oregon.

     A letter from Christopher M. Arfaa, an Attorney for Bell Atlantic, dated August 5, 1994 states:

In response to your recent inquiry, I have gathered the following information.

Select Call Forwarding was deployed in the Turtle Creek exchange (412- 823, 824, 825, 829) in June, 1992. The service cannot selectively forward calls from numbers outside the LATA where the receiving switch is located.

Did the Government and AT&T not know that this service was unavailable? Did they not think to check? Or did they lie?
